Bonneville Seabase![]() Rock and gravel line the bottom of some of the diving bays, shallow enough for a safe and easy instructional area. An air-filled habitat provides an underwater conversation and observation area. A shipwreck provides an unusual attraction for divers and additional housing for the many diverse species of fish, which are now native to Seabase. A long channel for compass courses, clay bottom areas for limited visibility and warm bubbling springs allow a variety of experiences for students of all abilities. ![]() ![]() Usage Fees & Equipment RentalsWe recommend advanced reservations for equipment rentals.

Homestead "Hot Pot"![]() The Homestead "Hot Pot" is an underground natural hot spring located in Midway, Utah approximately 30 miles south of Park City Ski Area. The Crater's Story For more than a century, the 55-foot high rock dome has been a distinctive landmark. An integral part of The Homestead's history, the warm water flowing from the mineral-rich "hot spring" was instrumental in the resort's beginnings as a place where weary miners could bathe and soak away their aches and pains. Water from the Wasatch Mountains snow-melt seeps one to two miles beneath the valley floor where it is heated by the earth's interior, and percolates back up through cracks in the surface, carrying minerals with it. Through the centuries, the overflow of mineralrich water from the hot spring has created the sloping mound of the crater dome. The newlyconstructed 110-foot tunnel has been hollowed out on the crater's north side, providing access to the hot pot's inner depths. The calm, azure water maintains a year-round temperature of around 96ûF, beckoning to scuba divers, snorkelers, swimmers and mineral bathers, as well as those who are interested in seeing the inside of a geothermal hot spring. Visitors can experience the cathedrallike opening some 45 feet above the water and look down through the clear pool's hour-glass shaped depths of 65 feet. An 8 to 16 foot layer of fine silt covers 8,000 to 10,000 years of history on the bottom, where an on-going archeological/ geological research project has discovered old bottles, cans, marbles and several thousand coins. Once an irritation to the early farmers who originally settled in this area, The Homestead Crater now offers the only warm-water scuba site in the continental United States, along with the unique amenities of a resort.
